DaLi - The Three Pagodas of the Chongsheng Temple
The Chongsheng Temple has been the important royal temple during NanZhao and DaLi Kingsdoms in the Tan and Song Dynasty , occupying a land of 7q.km. The Three Pagodas stand at the mountain gate of the Temple . The main pagoda-QianXun Pagoda , is a hollow square brick pagoda with thick eaves , It is 69.13 meters high and has 16 stories , it was set up during FengYou Period (824A.D-859A.D) of Nanzao Kingdom . The two smaller ones are hollow octagon brick pagodas with thick eaves , both standing at 42.19 meters with 10 stories , built during DaLi Kingdom (the 12 century A.D) . The Three Pagodas , JianJi big bell of NanZhao Kingdom , Rain Copper GuanYin Statue · the Three-Sage Statues and the Buddha Capital board written by YuanHu are the five important relies of the Chongsheng Temple . The Temple was destroyed while the Three Pagodas stand firmly .
In 1961 , the Three pagodas have been put down on the first national list set by the State council of the important historical sites to be given special protection .
